WP7: Evaluation

The aim of the product evaluation is to derive systematic and multifaceted information on to what extent and how the PLOTLearner and PLOTMaker tools reached its predefined goals overall, and to gain insights into what factors contributed to the success or non-success of the tools and resources developed.  Further, the impact of the delivered tools to the various target groups will be assessed. This is especially important taking into account the relatively varied contexts of the participating partner organisations, the varied learning scenarios and the different target groups involved (summative evaluation part).

During the initial meeting, the consortium will agree upon standardised criteria, guidelines and tools which will be drafted beforehand by DUK. The evaluation will combine quantitative as well qualitative research methodology. In addition to the collection of quantitative data, focus groups which involve the key target groups (e.g. developers, learners, trainers) will be held in order to continuously monitor the development, the use and the reuse of the tools and learning resources and to adapt the tools and resources according to the specific needs of trainers and learners.  The evaluation is intended to provide (1) insights into process of using the tools to create the learning resources, (2) it will focus on the conditions for the reuse of the resources, and (3) it will analyze the quality of resources developed with regard to persuasive design principles (formative evaluation part).

Secondly, process evaluation will address the quality of the transnational collaboration and the quality of project performance. The partnership will agree upon a set of quality criteria for the transnational work at the kick-off meeting. The project’s performance will be regularly evaluated against these quality criteria at the consortium meetings. Further, feedback sessions involving all partners will have a fixed place on the agenda of every transnational meeting.
